Infiniti begins the Dance of the Seven Veils–almost literally–as it releases photos and bits of information over, well, the next seven weeks untile Nissan’s luxury division reveals the Infiniti JX Concept at the 2011 Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance on August 18.
Infiniti will also begin the “Power of 7”, what it calls “an innovative social media campaign designed to initiate conversation about the JX Concept in advance of its global reveal”.
A series of seven images will be distributed exclusively on Facebook (http://www.facebook.com/Infiniti) every Thursday over the next seven weeks, along with an opportunity to win a trip for two to join Infiniti at the vehicle’s reveal at the Pebble Beach Concours.
The JX Concept will be followed by the reveal of the production version Infiniti JX at the Los Angeles Auto Show in November, the vehicle to go on sale in the spring of 2012 as a 2013 model.
What’s the Infiniti JX? Glad you asked. According to Ben Poore, vice president of Infiniti Americas, “Families don’t have many luxury vehicle options today. The new Infiniti JX will be the 7-passenger antidote to the ho-hum luxury crossovers that are out there right now.” In other words, a seven-seat un-minivan.
